Happy New Year from us here at Whitney Bridge

Updated: Jan 6

As we welcome in 2025, excitement fills the air here at Whitney Bridge. This year is not just about updating our services; it's about transforming the way you experience our offerings. We're committed to creating a more efficient, convenient, and environmentally friendly journey for all our customers.

Future-Proofing Our Multi Crossing Tickets

One of the most significant changes arriving in January 2025 is the overhaul of our Multi Crossing Tickets (MCT). Recognising the drawbacks of traditional paper tickets, we are making substantial improvements to your access and experience.

Paper tickets contribute significantly to waste and environmental damage. As a family-owned business, we aim to minimize our ecological footprint. By transitioning away from paper products, we are investing in a more sustainable future. For context, switching to digital alternatives could potentially save thousands of trees each year.

Currently, our existing MCTs rely on thermal printing, which can lead to fading, especially in warmer weather. For instance, tickets can become unreadable in as little as three months. This change means no more worrying about fading tickets that may hinder your access to our services.

Online Purchasing of Multi Crossing Tickets

In a bid to enhance your experience, starting January 2025, you will be able to purchase your tickets directly from our online store. This isn't just about convenience; it's also about efficiency. Last year, over 60% of our ticket sales happened through manual transactions, which placed a heavy burden on our office staff. With this online system, we’ll streamline operations and let our team focus on providing exceptional customer service.

Community Focus for Members and Groups

We’re excited to announce the introduction of an exclusive membership area on our website for Season Pass and Multi Crossing Ticket holders.

Transitioning to Fobs and Cards

This year, we will launch key fobs and cards for our multi-ticket customers, replacing outdated paper tickets. These will be offered for a small fee between £5 and £10 each. Unlike paper tickets that can wear out quickly, fobs and cards are designed to last long and come with tracking capabilities, allowing you to review your multi-crossing purchases easily. And if you ever move and don’t need your card, simply reach out to us!

Embracing Technology with Digital Wallets

It’s 2025, and we believe our ticketing system should reflect this. We are excited to share that we’re developing a way for you to store your MCTs digitally in various wallet apps on iOS, Android, and Samsung devices. Statistics show that nearly 80% of people now prefer digital over physical wallets, and we're adapting to this trend to make your travels smoother.

Your Information, Online

In addition to ticket purchases, we’re giving you complete online access to your account. You’ll easily track your available crossings, manage vehicle registrations, and add household members or guests. This means greater control and transparency over your travel plans, allowing for a more organized experience.

As we prepare for these exciting updates in 2025, we want to express our gratitude for your unwavering support. We believe these changes will greatly enhance your experience at Whitney Bridge, paving the way for smoother, more efficient crossings.

Cheers to a greener, more innovative year ahead! Here's to 2025!
