Launching from the highest navigable point on the Wye, this section of the river passes through the spectacular Black Mountains and the Radnorshire Hills. This fun route with simple rapids throughout, wildlife in abundance and historic monuments dotted along its banks, has something for everyone.
Starting at Glasbury there are many small rapids to wake you up!
The warren is an area of parkland just before Hay. Around a right hand bend in the river, stay right passing over the natural weir!
The historic little market town of Hay-on-Wye, just the Welsh side of the border. Famous for its books and literary festival, Hay is home to many charming cafes and eateries.
On the right hand side you will pass the historic 11th century Clifford Castle, home of the Fair Rosamund, favourite of Henry II.
Finishing your journey at the stunning 247 year old Whitney Toll Bridge.
