Charity days

Charity days take place here at Whiney Bridge two or three times a year in support of local fund raising and initiatives.

Over the last eight years 2012 - 2020 over £16,200 has been raised, benefiting such groups as Busy Bees Nursery, Crocodiles Pre-school, Clifford, Eardisley and Staunton-on-Wye Primary Schools, Eardisley Church, The Red Cross, Haven Breast Cancer Care, Black Mountains Lions Club, Heart Start, Home Start, Little Princess Trust, Hope Support Services, St Martin's Scout Group, Bredwardine Church, MARS and Cancer Research, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, The Alzheimer Association and Children With Cancer, to name a few.

On their allotted day, the charity collect the toll fees as a donations and have use of all available facilities here to increase their takings - we've had tea/coffee and cake sales, car washing, head massages, Olympic torch appearances, celebrity signings, toffee apples and sales of bacon rolls as a drive through, plus raffles and treasure hunts to name just a few of the brilliant fundraising ideas.

Our most recent charity offer is to the heroic Herefordshire NHS staff, for well-earned mini breaks here at Whitney Bridge, when the Covid 19 pandemic is under control. To be continued…..
